Part 1 - The Book of James - A Faith that Works: Lets Go Deeper Together

Scripture Focus: James 1:22 – “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

Devotion:
James opens this powerful letter not with fluff, but with a challenge: it’s not enough to listen to the Word—we must live it. Many believers hear sermon after sermon, attend Bible study after Bible study, but if the Word doesn’t move from our ears to our actions, we’re only fooling ourselves.
The Word of God is meant to transform us from the inside out.

This is a season for deeper faith—faith that’s proven by obedience, compassion, humility, and consistency. The book of James will challenge us, convict us, and call us higher. And that’s a good thing.

What This Teaches Us:
  • Faith must be lived out daily.
  • Obedience is the evidence of true belief.
  • Transformation starts with application.
Reflection Questions:
  • In what areas have you been more of a “hearer” than a “doer” of the Word?
  • What are some practical ways you can start applying what you’ve learned?
  • How do you want to grow spiritually through this study of James?
Prayer Prompt:
Lord, I don’t want to just read Your Word—I want to live it. Remove anything in me that resists obedience. Speak clearly, Holy Spirit, and help me to apply every truth You reveal. Use this study to grow my faith and draw me closer to You. I am open. I am ready. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Love P. 💞
